Jimmy Chey is a South Korean film director, gaffer, lighting board operator, and key grip based in New York City. He is currently pursuing a BFA in Film at the School of Visual Arts.

As a writer-director, his work explores a distinctive vision of New York—telling stories that capture the people, tensions, and the quiet poetry of the city. His films include Us (2022), Dave (2022), Flu Game (2025), and, Rendezvous (2025).

Jimmy is also an active gaffer, key grip, and lighting board operator working across the freelance commercial and narrative landscape. He has worked extensively across NYU advanced productions, SVA thesis films, ASC Masterclasses, and branded projects for clients and artists such as Ruth B, Morgan Julianna, Arkyve, Joe Gibbs Racing, Coofandy, Rosiano Cosmetics, OffDeal, and 8Sleep.
